When Can We Eat It?

You cannot have too many sprinkles and sprinkles are good on absolutely anything.

Owl Puke

As most of you know, we are schooling Asher at home. We are really enjoying this opportunity to learn together. Here are some pictures of us dissecting (digging through) an owl pellet (vomit). It was just as gross as it sounds. Rodent bones and fur vomited-up by a large bird. concentration!
Asher still has hope of completely assembling the mouse skeleton .

6:45 am

As I was cleaning up the kitchen, I turned around to see this scene unfolding.

Ready for the day :)

Out On the Town

As a birthday present, Grammie and Papaw Nottingham gave Winter tickets to the Nutcracker Ballet at the Fox Theatre in downtown Saint Louis. It was an unforgettable evening for Mom, Dad, and Winter.
Winter had a new fluffy pink dress to wear. The drive downtown was beautiful with all the lights. We celebrated over dinner. Winter was asked several times if she was in the ballet! She could only blush.
The theatre was amazing. We walked in to find Old St. Nick and yummy peppermints greeting us.
We had read the story several times and even brought our book. Winter followed along page by page on the edge of her seat. Her little feet swinging to the music.
The second act, she crawled up into her daddy's lap and fell asleep. It was the perfect ending!

Winter's Very First Ballet Recital

Winter's finished her semester of ballet with a sweet dance and cheese and cracker (cookie) party. All though performance comes naturally to some immediate family members, Winter is much more reserved...paralyzed by attention. We were delighted to see her comfortable and enjoying herself.

This is Winter and Abbeyrose one of her first and fast friends in St. Louis. They live on campus only one apartment building down from us.

Don't miss the voice of the proud big brother cheering on little sister.

Happy Birthday to Winter!

Winter tuned four this weekend. We celebrated Hello Kitty style.Winter said her favorite thing about her birthday was Emma.a new tea set

She was excited because she can now, at four, ride alone!

Tis the season...

OH Christmas tree...
Violet is new to all of this.

The tree is up and decorated. It has only fallen over once and no one was injured. Asher wants to send a picture in to the radio station?

Giving Thanks in the Mountains

We headed to Kentucky for Thanksgiving. It was good to be with family. We got to spend some fun time with Papaw 'tucky, Mimi, Uncle Phillip, Aunt Lindsay, Haaz Sue, and Aunt LaLa. We had chocolate pie for breakfast and peach pop for dinner.

Aunt Lindsay accidentally captured Violet taking her first steps!

Don't all grandmas buy a set of bumper cars for their grandchildren?

Great Aunt Pat...

Aunt Pat came all the way from Columbus, Ohio to witness our new life in St. Louis. We gave her plenty of opportunities. She slumber partied with Winter on the bottom bunk, she Christmas crafted, she roasted marshmallows and trekked all over the zoo.

Trick-or-Treat

Yet another perk of living on campus...trick-or-treating! Where else could you get ice cream cones, hot chocolate and tooth brushes as treats! Asher and Winter were beside themselves with anticipation. Twice that afternoon, Winnie came to me with tears in her eyes saying there was no way she could wait any longer to go.little chicken-Ariel-Batman

I mentioned as we were walking home that the kids could pick out a couple favorite goodies to eat before bed. Asher was astounded! He had not thought of the fact that he couldn't eat the whole bag in one sitting! bff
Violet and Ada really do like each other. They just always go for the eyes :)

Here come the Cooks

Our friends the the Cooks came all the way from Richmond for a visit. We maxed out our apartment with 10 people! It was a blast. The pictures are from the St. Louis Science Center. You can't beat it for free, hands-on fun. Too bad we don't have any pictures of Cindy teaching me to bowl on the wii.

Happy Birthday, Reese!

Cousin Reese turned 2 and we just couldn't miss it.

best friends...Winter and Emma

Winter often announces, "Emma is missing me today."

After a Thomas the Tank Engine party, we all took a ride on the Pizza Train!
Violet is just learning to wave. The train ride was a great place to practice.

Along with our time in Indianapolis, we went to Richmond to empty our house. It is officially sold! -bitter sweet

Three Pumpkins

We took our first day trip here in St. Louis. It was a wonderful adventure. It was amazing how quickly we left the city behind and found ourselves in the country. We ferried across the Missouri River and landed in Grafton, Illinois where the Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois River converge. Along the water, we visited the Rendezvous. It is a festival celebrating the fur trade that took place there 200 years ago. Next we headed to a local orchard for some intense pumpkin hunting. St. Louis is starting to feel more like home.
